Kauai rose from the Pacific some 6 million years ago and is the oldest and northmost of the main Hawaiian Islands. As the ages passed, the runoff from Mt Waialeale, the wettest spot on earth, carved some of the most spectacular scenery on earth. With cliffs rising up to 4000 feet high, and valleys that go back for miles, the Napali Coast is like something out of a forgotten land.
